Pele can be a little fickle. One day she’s wholly devoted to cottage core… hand lettering recipes and romanticizing wildflowers like it’s a full-time occupation. The next day she’s deep in German expressionism, squinting at shadows and declaring everything must be more angular, more tortured, more stark. She falls in love hard and fast with an idea and then just as quickly abandons it for the next bright obsession. There’s a seemingly endless stack of books on her table, each one crowned “the most important thing I’ve ever read” for about five days. Half-finished projects gather in polite little piles, evidence of former passions. Still, every so often, something sticks. And when it does, it carries a little trace of every version of Pele that came before it.

One of a kind scary monster sculpture made with cone 6 white stoneware clay. Scary monsters are made from slabs of clay that are pushed and manipulated into their monster shapes. They are all fired in a kiln for 3 firings (thats 3 trips into the abyss of 2000+ degrees) depending on the final finish.
